Danielle René
Writer | Artist | Wanderer
Danielle is a former lifestyle article contributor to that fantastic run of early 2000s women’s blogs. Now retired from that vertical, she’s concentrating on screenwriting, fiction, personal essays, and other art that centers Queer and/or Black identity.
In between writing projects, Danielle is a self-taught mixed-media visual artist. Her work in the visual arts seeks to explore and comment on the tension we experience with body acceptance, mental health, and identity. As a writer, many of her works are inspired by quotes and passages from other writers, particularly marginalized writers such as women, Black and/or Queer writers, or her work.
Currently based in Washington, DC, Danielle still holds tight to her Southern Charm. It bubbles over as a lover of shenanigans and a collector of many changing hobbies. She believes in a vivid life that reflects her motto - live a little.
